The Certified Infant Massage Instructor Training Programme is an Internationally Recognized Certification delivered exclusively by IAIM accredited trainers. This comprehensive course offers you a unique opportunity to support families by empowering parents to communicate with their babies through gentle, respectful, and nurturing touch. Upon completion, you will be equipped to teach parents the art of infant massage, fostering bonding, relaxation, and healthy development from the earliest days of life.
Following the training, you will enter a certification process designed to help you confidently lead infant massage sessions. With ongoing support from your IAIM trainer, you will develop and deliver a series of five parent / baby classes within your community or organization, and complete an open book assessment.
Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the title of Certified Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI). In the United States, the title is *Certified Educator of Infant Massage (CEIM).
Our experienced instructors are certified in Family and Children’s Yoga, as well as trained by the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM). This ensures a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate experience for all participants, from newborns to young children and their families.
The IAIM Instructor Training follows a comprehensive 15-point core curriculum that equips participants to confidently facilitate parent / baby massage classes. The training emphasizes supporting secure attachment through nurturing touch and communication, with a strong focus on adapting to the developmental needs of infants from birth to 1 year.
The curriculum also includes guidance on adapting techniques for babies with additional needs, premature infants, and considerations for the growing child.
Day 1 – History of IAIM and touch cultures. Behavioral states of babies. Massage strokes. Conditions for massage
Day 2 – Oil benefits. Class structure and the five session model. Crying and colic
Day 3 – Parent and baby class #1. Special situations. Teaching skills. Cues and reflexes. Massage strokes
Day 4 – Parent and baby class #2. Course planning. Premature babies. Bonding and attachment. Research
Day 5 – Parent and baby class #3. Assignment. IAIM overview. Marketing. Promotion
